Youme Shuhada-e-Kashmir (Martyrs’ Day) is observed on July 13 every year on both sides of the Line of Control and all over the world by the Kashmiris to pay homage to 22 Kashmiris who were martyred in 1931 to free Kashmir from the brutalities of despotic Dogra rulers. The day is the milestone in the history of Kashmiri struggle against foreign occupation.

Royce Reed, As we get closer and closer to 2010 the one thing that has become clear is that all entertainment/athlete drama will be played out via the internet.

The Dwight Howard vs. Royce Reed Saga is being played out via forums, twitter, Facebook, emails, TMZ and now blogs.

Howard has made his presence felt with a couple of lawsuits against Miss Reed for her supposedly breaking an injunction that permits here from basically speaking about Howard online in any shape form or fashion.

Howard acts like he knows nothing about them even though they are public suits that anyone can research. Someone should instruct Howard that lying didn’t work out that well for Tiger, so it is best to just honest.

I had to chuckle a bit when Miss Reed has decided to reply to this lawsuits, but talking about it on her blog.

Of course she can’t use Howard’s name or say anything specially bad about him, so reading the statement is like trying to decipher the Divinci Code.

The situation though as a whole is not very funny and I urged both Miss Reed and Howard to sit down and work something out, because none of this is good for their child. A child they both made together and who should be the priority.

YES i have an injunction that forbids me to say a certain name and guess what ITS NO SKIN OFF MY BACK. I signed it, it wasn’t court ordered or forced on me by a judge so that misconception is wrong! I have a College Degree (working on getting my Masters), I’m not stupid, I know what I can and cant say or do! TRUST! Now, moving on, I have a 2yr old to raise and no1 is thinking about what hes going to hear when he gets older and what i wont be able to shield him from. Everything I say or do, I think about him and how he will feel about it when he gets older. I get frustrated like every other woman in the world so dont judge me but I know you will. In reference to things being said….lemme say this…as you will soon see, I dont bite my tongue much. If I say something about anyone or anything, I say it as ME, as ROYCE REED! Not anyone else!

I cant help that and now things have gotten so out of hand this has to play out in the Public Eye. I can only say that my son is extremely happy, hes very smart, loves school and doesn’t know what is going on. I can say Ive done my research and read up on the pros and cons of my situation and i’m making the best out of it. I can say that I am truly loved and appreciated by those that matter and a smile is still on my face. I wake up every day to a cheesy dimpled smile that says “Mommy, I love you”. That is all I need and all this other MESS is on the back burner.

CNN News, In an era when news flows like water, a network devoted to providing headlines topped with a touch of analysis no longer seems quite so useful, writes Michael Hirschorn. “If anything, sitting down for 22 minutes to watch a middlebrow mix of politics and weather that’s too proud to dabble more than passingly in the latest Hollywood crack-whoredom seems … inefficient.”

News doesn’t flow like water on television, including on CNN. There basically is no cable television news anymore, and that’s CNN’s fault. Hirschorn seems to believe that the CNN of today is pretty much like the CNN of Ted Turner. It’s not even close.

The “low cost methods” he describes are no longer employed. Now they’re paying Anderson Cooper, Wolf Blitzer and many others ridiculous amounts of money, not to mention the amounts they spend on set design, graphics, and gadgetry. Shiny things.

And while it’s true that “a network devoted to providing headlines topped with a touch of analysis no longer seems quite so useful,” that’s not what CNN used to be. It used to be a news network. They spent money on reporting. They did analysis, too, but most of the day was filled with reports from reporters out in the field, reporting stories. Unearthing facts. Talking to sources. Being journalists.

“But CNN’s biggest problem may actually be its founding principles,” Hirschorn says. I would argue just the opposite: that Time-Warner’s *abandonment* of those principles is its biggest problem. It can’t be obnoxious, ideological and angry like Fox or, to a lesser degree, MSNBC. It’s only real choice is to bolster its reputation as a serious news outlet. Instead, it chose to go shallow — to *pretend* to be a serious news outlet, while running a lot of lightweight shows and talking heads interspersed with the occasional actual news report. And witness the recent hiring of Erick Erickson, the obnoxious, incendiary frat-boy blogger whose main talent is to hurl insults. Would the old CNN have hired him? Of course not. They would have hired another nameless reporter. To report.

People still want news on television. As it stands, there are now 4 big cable news outlets, but often, there is no news to be found on cable. CNN could be the network that could always be relied upon to provide it

polish president, MOSCOW: Polish President Lech Kaczynski and his wife died Saturday along with 130 others when their plane crashed while coming in for a landing in western Russia, officials said.

The governor of the Smolensk region, where the crash took place about 11 a.m. (0700 GMT), said no one survived.

"The Polish presidential plane did not make it to the runway while landing. Tentative findings indicate that it hit the treetops and fell apart," Sergei Anufriev said on state news channel. "Nobody has survived the disaster."

The Polish foreign ministry confirmed that Kaczynski and his wife were aboard the plane.

The head of Russia's top investigative body, Sergei Markin, said there were a total of 132 people on the plane, a Tu-154.

Kaczynski was flying to Russia for events marking the 70th anniversary of the massacre of thousands of Polish officers by Soviet secret police in Katyn and elsewhere during World War II.

The presidential plane was a Soviet-built Tupolev TU154M, at least 20 years old. The Army chief of staff, Gen. Franciszek Gagor, National Bank President Slawomir Skrzypek and Deputy Foreign Minister Andrzej Kremoer were on the passenger list.

In Warsaw, Prime Minister Donald Tusk called an extraordinary meeting of his Cabinet.

Kaczynski, 60, became president in December 2005 after defeating Tusk in that year's presidential vote.

The nationalist conservative was the twin brother of Poland's opposition leader, former Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski.

Kaczynski had said he would seek a second term in presidential elections this fall. He was expected to face an uphill struggle against Parliament speaker Bronislaw Komorowski, the candidate of Tusk's governing Civic Platform party.

According to the constitution, Komorowski would take over presidential duties.

Kaczynski's wife, Maria, was an economist. They had a daughter, Marta, and two granddaughters.
